The Data Bulletin presents the latest official figures on the U.S. economy, crime, energy, climate, and human well-being, each with its period and its source, together with plain language explanations. It is an information site. It is not a news wire, a forecasting service, or an adviser.

The figures come from public agencies and belong to them; our presentation, explanations, and code are ours. You may quote our charts and text with a link to the page. If you reuse a number, cite the agency named beside the chart, because that is where it came from and where any revision will appear first.

The functions that feed our charts exist to serve these pages. Please do not point your own site or script at them. We may block automated use, and the functions can change without notice.

Nothing here is investment, trading, tax, or legal advice. If you are making a decision that depends on a figure, go to the agency's own release and read the notes that come with it.

If we get a number wrong, the correction is visible, never silent. The corrected figure is shown with its source and the page says what changed. Send corrections to contact@thedatabulletin.com.

The Data Lab is a game. Scores are kept in your own browser, there are no prizes, and the questions are for fun, even though every answer carries an official receipt.

The site is provided as is and as available. We do not promise that it will be free of errors, available at all times, or fit for a particular purpose.

Agencies publish on their own schedules, revise past figures, and occasionally go quiet. When a source does not answer, the chart says so instead of showing an old or invented number.

To the extent the law allows, The Data Bulletin is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss that comes from using or being unable to use the site or from acting on a figure found here.

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. If any part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
